Having mastered the set of coordination exercises, proceed to the exercises for rotation and shift.
Take a pen and try rotating it around your middle finger using your index and ring fingers. Be sure to think about how the handle rotates in your hand.
Then grasp the pen the way you would normally hold it while writing (with your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger). Push it forward with jerks until only the tip remains in your hand. Flip the handle and repeat the exercise from the beginning. As you exercise, think about how your fingers move along the handle.
